The challenge

Harlequin’s Love Inspired imprint wanted to grow e-book downloads while building site traffic and brand affinity — reaching readers across smartphones, smart TVs, laptops and mobile games through one connected, cross-device strategy, without wasting spend on non-performing users.

What Rebel did

We ran a five-month cross-channel flight across streaming TV/OTT, display, pre-roll and OTT video, and mobile in-app and in-game placements — targeting reader audiences like Traditional Moms and Modest Moms, with retargeting via cross-device matching. Creative and audiences were refreshed continuously, and budget flowed toward the tactics and markets converting best.

The results

22,218 e-book downloads on 19M impressions and 89K clicks. Cost per download improved from $10.31 on the prior campaign to $5.63 — the best the program had ever achieved, against a ~$25 industry average — while the 0.07% CTR outpaced the 0.04% category benchmark. Retargeting proved the most efficient tactic, and Texas led all markets in downloads.
